Rachel holds a Masters of Social Work from Syracuse University with a Certificate in Gerontology. Maire is a licensed social worker with a geriatric specialty from the University of Michigan School of Social Work. At the Turner Senior Wellness Program (TSWP), she assists with programming as well as meets with individuals and families to help them navigate community resources. Her desk is in the middle of the center so she’s a friendly and welcoming face to all who enter the building. Prior to coming to TSWP, she worked as a program coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter providing community education and support for individuals impacted by some form of dementia.

Randy Thackston

Key components of her position are promoting upcoming health and wellness events and helping visitors connect with resources and programs in the building to best meet their needs. In addition to the satisfaction of serving others, Randy says that TSWP has given her the opportunity to “age gracefully surrounded by many role models, meet new friends, and gather a support system in Ann Arbor.”
