U-M Geriatrics ranks 6th in U.S.News & World Report’s Best Medical Schools list
This year's edition of the U.S. News & World Report medical school rankings again confirms that the U-M Medical School is among the very best in the nation. U-M is listed 10th among research-oriented medical schools. The Medical School's ranking for primary care training rose sharply, from 20th last year to 8th this year.
In the "Best Medical Schools Specialty Rankings", U-M Geriatrics is listed as 6th among the top academic programs in the nation.
U-M Geriatrics among top 11 programs in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals ranking
Geriatric specialty care at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Center ranks among the top 11 in the nation, according to the latest rankings issued by U.S. News & World Report magazine issued in July 2011.
The University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers are ranked among the country’s best hospitals for 2011, placing 14th overall for the third consecutive year. U-M was also ranked No. 1 in the Detroit metropolitan area.
U-M is the only hospital in Michigan ranked among the 14 institutions on the national honor roll, which signifies all-around excellence in multiple areas of specialized medical care. U.S. News ranks each of these specialties individually, and U-M earned a high national ranking in all 16 categories.
