Marc S. McMorris MD
Director, University of Michigan Food Allergy Service
Dr. Marc McMorris is an accomplished physician with years of clinical
and academic experience in pediatric allergy. He graduated from
Jefferson Medical College in Pennsylvania. Dr. McMorris then completed
his Pediatric Residency and Allergy & Immunology
Fellowship training at the University of Michigan.
Currently, Dr. McMorris is board-certified
in Pediatrics and Allergy and Clinical Immunology with clinical
and research interests in food allergy and asthma. He maintains
several faculty and clinical positions which include: Clinical
Assistant Professor in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology,
the Department of Internal Medicine, and the Department of Pediatrics
at the University of Michigan. Dr. McMorris is also the Medical
Director of Briarwood Health Associates and Co-Director of the
University of Michigan Asthma and Airway Center. He has been recognized
as one of the University of Michigan Health System’s Top
100 physicians. For the year 2002-2003, Dr. McMorris received the
University of Michigan Department of Pediatrics Top 10% Faculty
Teaching Award. He has also been recognized in The Best Doctors
in America and America’s Top Doctors.
As Director of the University of Michigan Food Allergy Service,
Dr. McMorris offers an abundance of clinical expertise in this
subspecialty.
He has consistently set himself apart as a health care provider
who intuitively understands the needs of this patient population.
While known for his clinical competence, families like his ability
to really listen with sensitivity and appreciate his
gentle approach to children. Dr. McMorris has distinguished himself
through his volunteer community outreach work. For 6 years, Dr.
McMorris served as Medical Advisor to Food Anaphylaxis Education,
a nonprofit Michigan educational organization. As such, he volunteered
his time to oversee and participate in food allergy educational
activities for Michigan families, schools, places of worship, professional
organizations, and health care providers. He has also been instrumental
in advocating for children with food allergies through his assistance
with state legislation which would call for improvements related
to access to epinephrine in schools and Emergency Medical Services.
Dr. McMorris was nationally recognized for his food allergy related
work when he became the recipient of a Muriel C. Furlong Award
for Making A Difference from the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network
of Virginia.

Georgiana M. Sanders MD
Dr. Georgiana Sanders graduated from the University of Cincinnati
College of Medicine and then completed a Pediatric Residency
program at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. After a year
as Chief Pediatric Resident at Boston City Hospital in Massachusetts,
and a stint in general pediatric practice, her postdoctoral training
included a three-year Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology
at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sanders also has a Masters
Degree from the School of Public Health at the University of
Michigan with a focus in clinical research design and statistical
analysis. Currently, Dr. Sanders is a Clinical Assistant Professor
in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Department
of Internal Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at the
University of Michigan. Until recently, Dr. Sanders was also
a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology
at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Sanders maintains clinical and research interests in food
allergy, asthma, and allergic rhinitis, with previous research
in cystic fibrosis and pediatric home ventilation. She is board
certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and Immunology. She has provided
numerous professional presentations and her research has been published
in scientific journals.
Dr. Sanders has had a long-term interest in food allergy. Families
appreciate her clinical competence, her understanding manner, and
the time she is willing to spend with them. She has volunteered
her time to participate in community outreach food allergy educational
activities to schools. Dr. Sanders has also been active in advocating
for children with food allergy through state legislation. She is
currently serving as President of the Michigan Allergy and Asthma
Society and has been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America
and America’s Top Doctors.
