Background:
Dr. Schwenk was the second chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the Unversity of Michigan, starting in 1988. He was also a professor of medical education and associate director of the U-M Depression Center. He has served as the vice chair of the Faculty Group Practice Board of Directors for the U-M Health System and saw patients Briarwood Family Medicine. He is currently dean of the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno.

Research Interests:
The main focus of Dr. Schwenk's research is mental illness in primary care, difficult physician-patient relationships, family function and illness, nutritional supplements and psychogenic drug use in athletes.
