Image of Match announcementThe Match

Our approach to the match is a bit unique among family medicine residencies. We feel that the match allows residents the opportunity to select not only their program, but also their continuity clinic. Currently we offer eleven first year positions and applicants may choose to rank the Chelsea and/or Ypsilanti continuity site. By listing each training opportunity as a separate match number, applicants have the opportunity to rank the training that best fits their goals.

Medical School Electives

We offer a unique month-long elective experience for medical students from other schools to work with us and experience family medicine at the U-M. Students work alongside our residents on our Family Medicine Obstetrics Service and our Family Medicine Inpatient services at the U-M Hospital and the Chelsea Community Hospital. These experiences give visiting students the broadest experience possible to learn our approach to delivering high-quality care to our patients and innovative education to our residents and students.
