The Cost Estimate worksheet templates have been updated to reflect lower general contractor profit and markup fees. The fee is now set at 7.5% for all projects regardless of project size. Effective 7/14/08.

The 2006 Michigan Building, Residential and Rehabilitation rules were filed with Secretary of State on April 2, 2008 and will take effect August 1, 2008.

A revised version of the Design Guideline 16195-H "Electrical Equipment Identification" has been posted to the website. New information is in Design Guidelines, Electrical.

-A labor rate schedule for Special Consultants (Exhibit B2) was added to Contract Documents.
-The Virtual Network webpage was added to FPD website. More information on how to utilize/access to follow.
-Minor revisions made to Cost Estimate Template.

The State of Michigan and the University of Michigan Building Code Committee has adopted the 2006 Michigan Plumbing code effective January 24,2008.

Please make the necessary arrangements to be informed and/or have access to these codes for your work as needed. Effective immediately all A/E's shall be responsible for conforming to these codes for all UMH investigative reports in progress.

A revised flowchart, approved by Dave Guillaume, which should help explain exactly which projects require BFS Plan review has been posted to the website. We will use this document as our guideline, and only seek BFS clarification on the truly unclear/confusing projects. If you have questions please contact Heather Graham Lewis.

Effective immediately, fire alarm and suppression cost items are to be note in division 15 & 16 respectively on the cost estimate rather than the previous located of division 13. The master cost template on our website has been updated to reflect this change. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your project manager at any time to discuss.

The State of Michigan and the University of Michigan Building Code Committee has set adoption dates for the following codes:

National Electrical Code 2005 will be adopted and effective on November 23, 2007

Michigan Mechanical Code 2006 will be adopted and effective on December 3, 2007

Please make the necessary arrangements to be informed and/or have access to these codes for your work as needed. Effective as of 10/23/07, all A/E's shall be responsible for conforming to these codes for all UMH investigative reports in progress.

FYI, the 2006 Michigan Building Code and 2006 Michigan Plumbing Code will not be adopted by the State of Michigan or UM BCC at this time. When dates are set for adoption of these codes, an announcement prior to the adoption dates will be made.

07.09.06
Cost Estimate Template has been updated to properly reflect rounding function of final Cost Summary. The way it is now set up is to round up to the nearest 1,000 regardless of Cost amount.
