Investigational Drug Trials and Research
Through the investigational drug trials program, our patients have the opportunity to obtain medications not yet available to the general public. Our investigational drug trials program for epilepsy is considered one of the best in the nation. U-M epilepsy patients enrolled in these trials get free access to the latest epilepsy medications, months – or even years – before they are approved by the FDA. As part of this program, our researchers collaborate on several national and local research efforts that focus on evaluating the genesis of seizures, early seizure detection, neuroimaging techniques, epilepsy and sleep, and the outcomes of epilepsy surgery.
Information about other clinical trials at UMHS can be found on Engage , the gateway to clinical research throughout the University of Michigan.
