Resuscitation: evaluation, stabilization, and
initial treatment for patients experiencing life-threatening emergencies
or other serious medical problems.
Acute Care: evaluation and initial
treatment for patients with serious to minor medical problems
Children's Emergency Services (CES):
evaluation and initial treatment for children from infancy to age
17. Children's Emergency Services is open 24 hours a day, every day and is the only Children's Emergency Department open 24 hours a day in Washtenaw County and in several neighboring counties.
MEDPATH (Michigan Emergency Department Patient
Assessment and Treatment Hub): an area adjacent to the ED
that provides a quieter, more comfortable environment for ED patients
who require tests or treatments that require preparation or additional
consultation and/or care from a specialty service.
Minor Emergency (MECA): provides treatment
for adults and children over 12 years of age with minor illnesses
and injuries. This area is open from 5:00 pm to 1:00am Monday though
Friday and 1:00 pm to 1:00 am Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES):
provides assessment and crisis management for acute psychological
and emotional problems for patients of all ages. PES is open 24
hours, seven days a week.
