Professional Summary:
Dr. Ehrlich earned his medical degree from University of Toronto
Faculty of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery residency
at the University of Toronto. In addition he completed a Master
of Science form the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University
of Toronto. He also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery
at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC. After he
completed his fellowship Dr Ehrlich spent 5 years at West Virginia
University Children Hospital as the director of pediatric surgery.
He was also a funded investigator at West Virginia University Center
for Rural Emergency Medicine. This center was one of CDC funded
Injury Control and Demonstration Center and the pediatric director
of . He came to Ann Arbor in 2003 and currently is an Associate
Professor of Surgery. Dr. Ehrlich is board certified in Pediatric
Surgery and General Surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College
of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Ehrlich serves as Director
of Pediatric Trauma at CS Mott Children’s Hospital at the
University of Michigan. Dr Ehrlich is an active member of the Injury
Research Center.

Research Interest:
Dr Ehrlich is research focuses on adolescent alcohol and injury,
parents and role model and how their behavior impacts their child.
In addition Dr Ehrlich is interested in the biomechanics of injury
and is working a “Fall “ reconstruction project

Novel Approaches to Pediatric Injury Prevention.
Objective- a. Refine and test the feasibility of a novel secondary
injury prevention tool that increases seatbelt use by parents and
children as well as to increase the number of children less than
12 years of age properly positioned in the back seat when riding
in a car. b. Use the data as building blocks to obtain peer reviewed
funding for a randomized control trial (RCT) of this injury prevention
tool.
