Grading Process

  • In accordance with medical school guidelines, we aim for roughly 20% honors, 40% high pass and 40% passing grades.
  • Your grade is assigned by the EM Medical Student Director from the Department of Emergency Medicine. Input is obtained from EM faculty, residents, and the written examination.
  • Your grade is determined approximate weighting of the following factors:
Clinical performance 75%
Written Exam 15%
Professionalism 10%
  • Consideration will also be given to factors, such as written comments and professionalism, and may result in a grade different from a pure numerical calculation.
  • Significant issues with unprofessional behavior may result in course failure.
  • Final determination of the course grade rests solely with the course director.
