For Patients

During a stressful time like this, we understand that you may have many questions about the care your child will be receiving. We in Children’s Emergency Services at the University of Michigan Health System have tried to anticipate those concerns by providing you with information about our facility, staff and the care we offer.

Children’s Emergency Services at the University of Michigan Health System handles critical problems that your private physician is not able to manage in his or her office and acute problems that cannot wait to be seen by your physician during normal business hours.

We provide treatment 24 hours a day, seven days a week, without appointments. We are apart of a larger Emergency Department that evaluates and treats adults for emergency care. Your child will be initially evaluated and registered in a general area for both adults and children, but will always be treated by pediatric specialists.
