Pediatric Human Patient Simulator
 

PEM fellows will train at the bedside, in our Clinical Simulation Center, as well as, in our animal lab to develop excellence in patient care and procedural skills. The fellowship program utilizes our institutional Clinical Simulation Center in the training and assessment of PEM Fellows. Exposure and use of high fidelity human patient simulators as well as specific task oriented simulators are an important part of fellow education and assessment. Some simulation events are noted here.

Procedural Skills Workshops : Ultrasound vascular access, I/O placement and splinting workshop, Ultrasound Trauma assessment.

Trauma : Simulation /case scenarios and trauma procedures

PEM Fellow Clinical Skills Assessment: Medical Decision Making, Resuscitation scenarios, PEM procedures.

Basic Airway Skills Training : BVM ventilation, intubation skills, and use of RSI medication

Advanced Airway Skills : Fiberoptic intubations, Glidascope©, LMA placement, Needle cricothyrotomy, tracheostomy management.
