Influenza Vaccine Information

The Employee Health Service offers the Influenza vaccine to UMHS employees, medical students and volunteers. If you would like to receive an influenza vaccine, please come to the Employee Health Service. EHS will continue to administer flu shots through January. You do not need an appointment to receive a flu shot.

Please note: People who would like to receive an influenza vaccine must present a current University of Michigan Health System ID badge. Flu shots will NOT be administered without a current ID badge. Also, bring your blue hospital registration card.

The flu shot is given in the muscle of the upper arm, so please remember to wear appropriate clothing

Tune up and Tune in! Get your flu shot for a chance to win an iPod Nano

All employees who receive a flu shot through one of the many Employee Health Services-sponsored flu clinics, or through EHS liaisons giving flu shots on inpatient units, ambulatory sites and off-site clinics, will be automatically entered in a raffle to win one of three 8GB iPod Nanos, now through January. We have already drawn one lucky winner, so there are still 2 more chances to win. We will be randomly drawing names of people who receive a flu shot. YOU might be the next lucky winner!

On-site units/departments

This year, some units and departments have coordinated with Employee Health to give flu shots to their own employees on their own unit/in their own department. Check with your manager to see if your unit is involved in this program.

Off-Site Clinics:
