The UM Comprehensive Diabetes Center is hosting this Annual World Diabetes Day Health Fair to present to the public the latest information on diabetes treatment and prevention — and to bring attention to the alarming rise in diabetes in Michigan and the United States. Diabetes is a serious disease that leads to potentially life-threatening complications such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness, and amputation.

The American Diabetes Association estimates that 24 million children and adults in the United States live with diabetes currently, and an additional 57 million Americans are at risk for type 2 diabetes. If current trends continue, one out of every three children born today will face a future with diabetes.

We will heal diabetes with education, prevention, treatment, and research!  Please join us.
