Make a Cutaneous Surgery & Oncology Unit Appointment

Individuals with a biopsy-confirmed melanoma diagnosis are encouraged to make appointments directly by calling the University of Michigan Multidisciplinary Melanoma Clinic at (734) 936-6360.

The method for scheduling an appointment in the Cutaneous Surgery & Oncology Unit varies depending on your condition and the status of your diagnosis.

For Unconfirmed Cancers: Patients with unconfirmed or suspected skin cancers may seek diagnosis or a referral from their primary care physician or dermatologist, or pursue diagnosis through our General Dermatology Clinic

For Biopsy-Confirmed Cancers: Patients with a biopsy-confirmed melanoma diagnosis can refer themselves directly or be referred by a doctor at any time, before or after treatment.

For individuals with a biopsy confirmed diagnosis of melanoma, appointments can be made by calling the University of Michigan Multidisciplinary Melanoma Clinic at (734) 936-6360.

For individuals with a biopsy confirmed diagnosis of merkel cell carcinoma, appointments can be made by calling the University of Michigan Multidisciplinary Merkel Cell Clinic at (734) 936-6360.

Patients with a biopsy-confirmed basal cell, squamous cell carcinoma or other non-melanoma skin cancer diagnosis, appointments can be made by calling the Cutaneous Surgery and Oncology Mohs Unit at (734) 936-4068.

A preoperative consultation is critically important to assess, coordinate, plan, and prepare the patient appropriately for surgery. Please understand that Mohs surgery is not usually performed on the consult day. We will make every effort to minimize trips but want to insure that the surgery is performed in the best way possible.
