Psoriasis, Eczema & Other Inflammatory Skin Conditions
The University of Michigan Department of Dermatology is a world leader in the treatment of psoriasis. Patients come from across the United States - and the world - to receive the unique treatments we offer. In all cases, whether inpatient, day-treatment or outpatient, we tailor the therapy to your specific needs.
Our physicians will develop a treatment program with you, selecting from therapies that include systemic medications, psoralen photochemotherapy and the modified Goeckerman regimen - incorporating topical creams and medications, scalp treatments and ultraviolet therapy. Most patients see excellent improvement in their skin within weeks, with remissions often lasting several months to a year or more.
As an alternative to hospitalization, our department has developed the Dermatology Treatment Center (DTC).
