Dr. Allen Bruce is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, where he concurrently earned his Medical Degree and PhD in Molecular Cell Biology. His graduate research investigated the roles of T lymphocytes and interferons in blocking skin cancer development. In 2004 he came to the U-M as part of the U-M Dermatology's innovative research residency training program. He was recruited to join our faculty in 2008. Dr. Bruce's research is focused on immunodermatology, with particular interests in mechanistic roles of T cells in psoriasis, other inflammatory dermatoses, and skin cancer progression.
His work has garnered awards from the National Psoriasis Foundation, the Dermatology Foundation, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and the Society for Investigative Dermatology.
