Kathy
Diehl, MSW received her Masters
in Social Work at the University of
Michigan and completed postgraduate
training at the Ann Arbor Center for
the Family. She has a range of experiences
and clinical interests including work
with individuals who are experiencing
grief and loss, and supportive treatments
for patients with depression. Her
area of specialization is in the area
of personality disorders where she
provides both individual and group
Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. |

JoAnn
Heap, MSW, ACSW is a Clinical
Social Worker with experience in treatment
for all types of mental illness, having
assisted patients and families for
ten years on the inpatient psychiatric
unit at U of M Hospital. She has maintained
a practice in individual and group
treatment in an outpatient setting
as well. She currently supervises
a team of clinicians providing DBT
treatment in Community Mental Health
settings and is developing programs
and training clinicians at Riverview
Outpatient Clinic. She has a bachelor's
degree from Michigan State University
and a Masters degree from University
of Michigan. She speaks to audiences
about treatment for Borderline Personality
Disorder. |

Vivien
Hsu, MSW received her training
at Smith College School of Social
Work. Since 1971, she has worked in
various mental health and family counseling
settings providing therapy to children
and adults, couples and families.
Ms. Hsu currently delivers a range
of services to the adult population.
Her therapy skills include expertise
in grief and loss, interpersonal conflicts,
occupational stressors, child abuse
and parenting concerns. She came to
the University of Michigan Department
of Psychiatry in 1993. |

Vanessa
Korn, MSW has been active within
the University of Michigan Health
Center Department of Social Work for
the past two decades. Her clinical
areas of interest include the treatment
of mood disorders, with special emphasis
on individuals impacted by trauma
or abuse. She has provided couples
counseling, and couples communication
groups both within psychiatric and
primary care settings. Vanessa has
also been active administratively
within Psychiatric Social work, and
involved in numerous projects having
to do with clinical redesign within
Ambulatory Services and the Depression
Center. She is a graduate of the University
of Michigan School of Social Work.

Anne
Kramer, MSW is an advanced
Clinical Social Worker in the Department
of Psychiatry at the University of
Michigan. She completed a Masters
Degree in Social Work at the University
of Michigan. Her research interests
include adolescent depression, youth
suicide prevention, and the evaluation
of intervention programs. Her clinical
interests include child and adolescent
behavioral health, the development
of new services and programs for youth,
and patient and family education. |

Deborah
Long, MSW earned her master's
degree at the University of Michigan
School of Social Work. She completed
her clinical internship at Catholic
Social Services of Jackson, and postmasters
clinical fellowship at the University
of Michigan Outpatient Psychiatry
Department. She has postgraduate training
in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT),
cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT),
and marital therapy. Special interests
include depression, anxiety, personality
disorders, and women's health issues.
She provides therapy for individuals,
couples and groups. |

Patricia
Melnick, MSW completed both
her undergraduate work in psychology
and masters in social work at the
University of Michigan. She has prior
clinical experience in substance abuse
treatments, and residential and outpatient
treatments with adolescents. Her interests
lie in treatment of depressive disorders
and schizophrenia, and she works in
a number of venues with individuals
with chronic illness at both the University
of Michigan and the Community Mental
Health setting. |

Florence
Kittie Morelock, MSW is a graduate
of the University of Michigan School
of Social Work and has over thirty
years of clinical experience. She
currently practices in general and
supportive therapy within psychiatry
and has special interest in mood disorders,
life transitions, cross-cultural adjustment,
and women's health. |

David
Neal, MSW completed his training
at Michigan State University. He has
served as the Director of Psychiatric
Social Work in addition to playing
a key administrative role in the development
of the Washtenaw County Health Organization,
an innovative program designed to
meet the medical and mental health
needs of Washtenaw County residents.
He has substantial experience in the
public mental health system, and he
has been an innovator in group therapy
and running interpersonal group treatments
for men and women. |

Laura
Nitzberg, MSW is a graduate
of Barnard College of Columbia University
and Columbia University School of
Social Work where she received her
master's degree in 1975. She received
advanced family therapy training at
the Ackerman Institute in New York
City. She has over twenty-five years
experience caring for individuals,
couples and families. She specializes
in helping families who have relatives
with mental illness and treating dual-career
couples. Laura educates psychiatric
residents and other graduate students
in the area of couples and family
therapy. She is also on the faculty
of the University of Michigan School
of Social Work. |

Katharene
Schoof, MSW, ACSW is an advanced
Clinical Social Worker in the Department
of Psychiatry at the University of
Michigan. She completed a master's
degree in Social Work at the University
of Michigan. Her clinical interests
include child and adolescent depression,
post -traumatic stress disorder, other
anxiety and disruptive behavior illnesses,
and adoption issues. Katharene specializes
in psychosocial therapies, including
group interventions for depressed
children and adolescents. |

Melissa
Webster, MSW is a Clinical Social Worker in the
Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan.
She completed a master's degree in Social Work at the
University of Michigan. Her clinical interests include
child and adolescent depression, obsessive compulsive
disorder, eating disorders, and post traumatic stress
disorder. Her research interests include depression
and obsessive compulsive disorder. She is the Clinical
Research Coordinator for STAR*D
Child, a project which focuses on the effects of maternal
depression on children. Melissa specializes in cognitive
behavioral therapies. |

Claire
Weiner, MSW received her undergraduate
degree at the University of Illinois
and master's degree at the University
of Chicago. Her range of experience
and interests include older adults,
grief and loss, cognitive behavioral
therapy for depression, and individuals
and couples. She is currently involved
in an initiative which will broaden
the mental health services to the
Cancer Center providing group therapy.
She has been a social work field instructor
for thirteen years at the University
of Michigan. |
