Moved. Depression Center at University of Michigan

Thanks to the generous support of many individual and organizational donors, we have met our initial fundraising goal to begin construction of a new facility to house the Depression Center and related outpatient programs. The construction is completed, and we are now focusing our attention on support for all the work that’s accomplished throughout the Depression Center.

... Edwin and Mary Upjohn Meader decided to reach out and help. Click on the video below to hear their story...

The Center is seeking partnerships with donors to create a major shift in the way that depression is perceived, diagnosed and treated in this nation. Our goal of $37.5 million will support recruitment and retention of the best faculty; leading-edge research; clinical, educational and outreach programs; and ongoing operations.

Breaking News

2006 marks an important year for us. It’s the 100th anniversary of the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry and the opening of the Rachel Upjohn Building that will house the University of Michigan Depression Center – the first-ever comprehensive center of its kind.

This is a special time, with special ways of getting involved and making a difference. For example, you can:

Participate in the Executive Director’s Innovation Fund, supporting truly innovative ideas that could have far-ranging impact on the diagnosis and treatment of depression.

Support the Centennial Fund, established to celebrate the Department of Psychiatry’s 100th anniversary and to ensure that its leading-edge work continues in the future.

Or, consider a gift to support patient care, education and outreach programs, or research.
