Vascular Programs - Cardiovascular Center
Director: Thomas W Wakefield, M.D.
Diseases and conditions affecting the arteries and veins of the circulatory system form the focus for the U-M Cardiovascular Center's Vascular Programs. From hypertension (high blood pressure) to aortic aneurysms, these programs offer medical, surgical and minimally invasive options for care.
Patients seeking evaluation and care planning are seen first in the Vascular Medicine clinic, with many diagnostic examinations carried out in the Diagnostic Vascular Unit. Additional care provided by vascular surgeons and interventional cardiologists and radiologists is coordinated through these programs, as are rehabilitation and follow-up care options.
