Cardiovascular Executive Health Program

Our Cardiovascular Executive Health Program is designed to help protect one of your most important assets -- the health and well-being of executive leaders and professionals. The health of successful people is often overlooked or even compromised with the associated lifestyle and pressures of doing business today.

Heart disease and stroke are the number one and two causes of death in the U.S. In most cases, they are preventable through early detection and lifestyle management. The Cardiovascular Executive Health Program is designed for executives and professionals who are at-risk or concerned about developing cardiovascular disease. We offer a comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessment with state-of-the art diagnostic testing, thorough medical examination, lifestyle assessment, tailored nutrition, exercise and stress reduction strategies and action plan in half day evaluations, full day program or 1 1/2 day programs. Our outstanding multidisciplinary team is nationally recognized for clinical, research and educational efforts in heart disease prevention.

We can help promote health and prevent heart disease before it develops, preserving many years of productivity, by utilizing the novel resources unique to the University of Michigan.

Half-day Evaluation:

A morning of diagnostic testing, including laboratory tests for cardiovascular risk factors, CT Scan and carotid ultrasound followed by a one hour comprehensive medical evaluation with a cardiologist.

One-Day Program:

This full day evaluation includes a complete cardiovascular diagnostic work-up with extensive blood tests, CT scan, carotid ultrasound, exercise stress test (with EKG and measurement of maximal oxygen consumption).

In addition, there are consultations with a nutritionist, stress management specialist and exercise physiologist with recommendations to optimize health and reduce heart disease risk through effective lifestyle enhancing strategies. The day culminates with the cardiologist consultation where a complete history and physical is done. test results are reviewed and a plan of action is developed. Complementary breakfast and lunch are served. Included in a one month follow-up visit with repeat lipid profile and cardiologist consultation. (Sample Schedule) (PDF)

1 1/2 Day Program

Our most popular program, this includes all the comprehensive diagnostic testing offered with our one day program, but with additional emphasis on lifestyle assessment and strategies and support to make lifestyle improvements. There are longer consultation for exercise, nutrition and stress and follow-up consultation are included during the one-month follow-up visit as well. A special bonus is a therapeutic massage offered during the initial visit and one month follow-up. Monthly coaching calls for one year support lifestyle changes and goals for further improvements.
