Patient Management Software
The anticoagulation patient management database (APMD), is used by the anticoagulation nursing and clerical staff to manage a service of approximately 2500 patients on warfarin therapy who have been referred by university physicians for phone management of their INR values. The database provides rapid access to patients records, standardizes protocols for communicating with the patients and referring physicians and improves patient record-keeping over a previously used paper system. The system was developed by the directors of the anticoagulation service and the UM Information Technology department.
