Multidisciplinary Aortic Program Fellowship

The University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center has an open position for a qualified candidate to begin July 1, 2012 in its Aortic Research Fellowship Program. Each trainee will have a primary mentor and a secondary mentor.  There is a wide range of expertise in the mentors and multiple departments are represented including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Pathology, Human Genetics, Bioengineering, and the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine.

The Multidisciplinary Aortic Program is a collaboration among the Departments of Surgery, Medicine and Radiology and exemplifies the Cardiovascular Center and its goal of collaboration with physicians and nurse practitioners from multiple specialties seeing patients in a single visit to the University of Michigan.

Candidates need to hold an MD or PhD degree and must be citizens of the United States or foreign nationals with permanent residence. Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, two letters of recommendation and a narrative description of their long term career objectives along with their short term goals to be accomplished during the one year Aortic Fellowship. The research program is one year in length and is funded with salary and benefits.
