Cardiovascular Medicine at Domino's Farms Student Internship

 

Internship Overview

Our internship program is located at Domino's Farms and emphasizes cardiac rehabilitation and stress testing.  The internship program is designed to provide the student with a well rounded clinical experience in the following areas: cardiac rehabilitation, maximal graded exercise testing, oxygen consumption testing, stress echocardiography, and fitness evaluations/assessments.  Other areas of observation may include: nutritional counseling, stress management counseling, and the metabolic fitness program.  In addition to experience at Domino’s Farms, students will have the opportunity to go off-site to the Cardiovascular Center and observe nuclear stress testing, cardiac catheterization, and electrophysiology studies.  Weekly intern educational classes are provided to prepare students for employment in clinical exercise physiology and the ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist certification. The program is a full-time 16 week commitment.

Fall Semester: September through December

Winter Semester: January through April

Summer Semester: May through August
