Opportunities for Giving
Be a Part of Dr. Spoor’s Legacy
Gifts are already coming in to a memorial fund established in memory of Martin Spoor, M.D., a cardiac surgeon and U-M faculty member. The Martin Spoor CVICU RN Scholarship will honor a CVC ICU nurse with a $500 scholarship, based on a poster presentation at the National Nursing Conference. The long-term goal of the scholarship is to honor two nurses annually with a $1,000 scholarship.
Donations to the Martin Spoor CVICU RN Scholarship Fund can be mailed to:
U-M Cardiovascular Center Development Office
1500 E. Medical Center Drive, Room 5331L
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-5865
Please indicate that your donation is for the Martin Spoor Scholarship Fund.
Professorships
Establishing a Scholarship, Faculty, Research or Visiting Professorship is a unique and lasting way to ensure continued excellence and stature for many years into the future. Endowed Scholarships start at $100,000; Collegiate Professorships at $500,000. A Research Professorship can be endowed for $1 million or more, a Visiting Professorship for $1.5 million, and endowment of a full-time faculty member for $2 million or more.
Facilities
In the new Cardiovascular Center clinical building there are numerous opportunities to make a naming gift. Among these are $25,000 or more for faculty and staff offices, $500,000 for the Wellness and Nutrition Center, and $1 million or more for the clinical labs and suites. Your gift will be part of the facility that is helping to transform the fight against cardiovascular disease.
Research Programs
Your gift of $100,000 or more can be the seed money for innovative ideas, funds for special equipment, supplies and technical support. A gift of $1 million or more for a programmatic research endowment could help sustain an entire research program, whether it's cellular-level aneurysm research, bioengineering of heart muscle tissue, or the development of molecular "Band-aids" for the failing heart.
