Two CMB students, Jennifer Kennell (l) and Paul Graf (center) receive Medical School Awards for Excellence in Teaching, 2004. Blair Madison (R) received the Medical School Award for Excellence in Research and Service. |
CMB students serve as teaching assistants for one term, generally shortly after achieving candidacy. There is a great variety of teaching opportunities throughout the University at all levels of education. CMB students select an appropriate course to teach according to their background and teaching interests. They have chosen to teach courses as diverse as Cancer Biology (graduate), Introductory Biology (undergraduate) and Histology (medical). The CMB Teaching Coordinator and/or the CMB Program Administrator act as liaisons with the contributing departments and assist students in securing teaching positions. CMB students have been motivated and successful teachers, and have received recognitions such as the prestigious University-wide Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award, and Medical School Awards for Excellence in Teaching. |
