A variety of important institutional resources are available to
support the translation of research methodologies from the bench to
the bedside:
Basic Research tools
Vector
Core
Transgenic
Animal Model Core
DNA Sequencing Core
Additional
Laboratory Resources
The
Center for Gene Therapy and molecular medicine program benefit from
the availability of a variety of other core services developed by
the University of Michigan. These include cores for DNA sequencing,
biological containment (BL3), morphology, molecular biology, hybridomas,
cell sorting, protein sequencing, and peptide synthesis.
Clinical Research Tools
General
Clinical Research Center
Administrative
Core
The administrative core develops and promotes channels of communication
between program members as well as facilitates the development and
initiation of gene therapy clinical protocols. Assistance is provided
to University of Michigan investigators in generation of BRRC, IRB,
FDA and Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee applications. The administrative
core also provides information to investigators about funding opportunities
and funds selected preclinical toxicity studies. Liaison to the
UM Technology Management Office to assist in the development of
intellectual property is also provided by the administrative core.
