Ex. 3ft x 4ft poster, equates to 4 linear feet. Multiply 4 by $15 to get total cost ($60). Increments of a foot are rounded up to the next foot. This includes basic set-up and printing, additional troubleshooting will be charged at a rate of $60/hour.
Preparing Your Poster Files
We accept Powerpoint 2003, Powerpoint 2007, and PDF files. Please send powerpoint 2003 in their original format.
- Adobe Illustrator Poster Converting to PDF (30 sec video)
- Powerpoint 2007 Poster: Converting to PDF Video (30 sec)
You are responsible for the following file preparation errors:
- Using a low resolution logo or image that appears blurry when printed.
-
- Preview your logo at 200% to make sure it is a high quality image and the pdf conversion settings are at 150 ppi, especially after converting to pdf.
-
Using a powerpoint indigo, which appears blue on your screen, but prints purple on the printer.
- Choose blue according to following Guidelines
-
- Blue: 0r 65g 126b
- Maize: 255r 204g 51 b
- You must leave a white margin of at least .5 in on all powerpoint slides
- Images will always print darker than they appear on screen
-
Remember this fact when adjusting your images in photoshop and adjust accordingly.
Additional Printing Tips
- Graphs created using Prism Graph software can not be exported or copied and pasted into PowerPoint. The graphs will appear in the print preview, but will not print.
- Copy graphs from the Prism Graph software, paste into Photoshop, Microsoft Paint or other image editing software and save as a jpeg file. Use the Insert > Picture > From File function of PowerPoint to insert the jpeg file into the poster.
- In general, avoid just "cutting and pasting" graphs, charts and illustrations into your poster. Save them out of the originating program as a tif, png, or eps, and then place those graphics into your poster file. Use something like Deltagraph to create your graphs. However, cutting and pasting out of Excel into Illustrator is usually OK (use Edit > Paste Special > Picture - you will lose the update abilities, but at least it will most likely print properly).
- Set up a time to print that is a couple days ahead of your deadline. This allows for a buffer in case something goes wrong with the printing of your poster.
- If you are given a choice, choose sRGB (or Adobe RGB) Color mode.
