The Microscopy and Image-analysis Laboratory (MIL) will be hosting a demonstration of a novel new confocal from Leica: the TCS SP5 X. This system uses a white light tunable laser and offers the operator up to eight excitation lines active simultaneously. Prior to the demonstration, Leica Microsystems Representatives will present a seminar: "The White-Light Laser Innovation" on Monday November 10th in room 3515 BSRB from 2-3:00.
The system will be operational on Tuesday, November 11 for two hour appts. through Thursday November 20th. There will be a special afternoon session addressing FRET and FRAP applications with user samples on Wednesday, November 12th. Appointments in advance are necessary. Please contact either Chris Edwards or Kris Fertig to schedule an appointment. Priority access will be given to those who bring actual ongoing research samples.
