Research on the Quality of Cancer Care in Diverse Populations

Rachel Tocco, MA

Rachel Tocco earned her Master's degree in Experimental Psychology from Towson University and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and has spent the past five years as a study coordinator at the University of Michigan Medical School. She has been with CanSORT since 2012. She works primarily on the PPG (P01) Grant, The Challenge of Individualizing Treatments for Patients with Breast Cancer. She is responsible for developing patient and clinician surveys for the project, including writing, refining, and piloting survey items and assembling cohesive and attractive survey products. She collaborates with the data analyst team to ensure the high quality of the data. She assists with fieldwork activities by leading team meetings and refining data collection protocols. She coordinates staff efforts on measurement issues and supervises the undergraduate student team members. Her strengths include questionnaire design, protocol development, and data management and she has extensive experience coordinating large, multi-site research projects. Her research interests include decision-making and cognition.
