Annual Funds
Yearly gifts to our Annual Funds support various programs at the U-M Cancer Center.
Fund for Discovery
Research funding from organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is typically reserved for ideas that have already undergone initial testing. But how is that initial testing funded? The Fund for Discovery is designated for that purpose - paving the way for UMCCC investigators to develop their ideas to a point where they can compete for national research funds.
Since its inception, the Fund for Discovery has more than met that mission. To date, every dollar of seed money in the fund has generated nearly $20 in subsequent federal funding!

Patient and Family Support Services (PFSS)
The Patient and Family Support Services Program at the Cancer Center is there to relieve many of the burdens cancer places on patients and their families. When it comes to providing support to patients, we take the same multidisciplinary approach that we take in treating their cancer. That means that a patient's support team includes not only the finest doctors and nurses, but cancer specialists in psychology, social work, art therapy, nutrition, finance and countless other areas. Every component of support is fully integrated into the patient's treatment plan, recognizing that cancer afflicts the whole person and the whole family. To learn more, visit the Patient and Family Support Services Program web site.
