Providing team-based treatment and support to all patients
The Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Clinic, directed by Dr. Michael Volk, is held every Friday afternoon at the Cancer Center. The Clinic uses a multidisciplinary, or team-based, approach to caring for patients with hepatic malignancies primary or metastatic. The clinic includes hepatobiliary surgeons, hepatologists, medical and radiation oncologists, and interventional radiologists. This unique program combines the expertise of various departments with an excellent liver transplant program and our NIH designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The clinic also provides diagnosis and treatment for those with gallbladder cancer.
Children and young adults who have been diagnosed with hepatoblastoma or other rare liver cancers are treated in the
Solid Tumor Oncology Program at C.S Mott Children's
Hospital.
Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Board
Following an evaluation, complex cases are reviewed by our Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Board with careful consideration of all treatment options. A clear treatment plan is developed and discussed with every patient and implemented through the Clinic.Make an Appointment
