Operational Support (MCOps) - Velos eResearch

MCOps Service Responsibilities

MCOps will provide support and service to all system related activities:

  • Escalate and triage support requests, as appropriate
  • Communicate system down-time or critical issues in a timely manner through email and/or Service Status Web Page
  • Partner with Velos eResearch for version releases and upgrades of the application
  • Work closely with other support units (e.g. MCIT, MSIS) to troubleshoot support problems when needed
  • Customer Support available 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Monday through Friday
  • Provide and/or coordinate customer training sessions

Security
The MICHR CRIC Information Security Team has established and implemented appropriate security procedures that are consistent with the University policies and guidelines. The team ensures incidents are promptly reported to the MICHR CRIC Management Team, appropriate Business Owners, ITSS, the HIPAA Officer, and OVPR, as needed.

Database Migration
MCOps will also provide Data Migration by collaborating with the customer to plan, analyze requirements, obtain resources, and complete the migration of a database into Velos eResearch from their existing application. This may be a collaborative effort involving other MICHR units. - During the preparation for migration and the migration processes, MCOps will:

  • Faciliate regular meetings with customer and the migration team
  • Provide a detailed project plan with major milestones
  • Provide essential documentation for customer sign-offs
  • Communicate the migration process and status to the customer
  • Provide and/or coordinate end-user training
