DR. PIENTA: Without people to participate in health research, there's no discovery. New medicines, devices, and procedures would never get approved.
ANNCR: U-M-engage.org lets you connect with world-class health studies at the University of Michigan Health System.
DR. PIENTA: As a U of M doctor, I know that fewer than 5% of the population participates in health research. Imagine if we even doubled that percentage-we'd double the pace of discovery.
ANNCR: At U-M-engage.org, you can register to participate in health research. It takes just minutes with our secure Volunteer Registry. We'll then contact you once a potential match is available.
DR. PIENTA: Whether it's access to cutting-edge medicine, supporting loved ones, or helping future generations, people are motivated to volunteer for many reasons. But they can't help if they don't know how.
ANNCR: To register, go to U-M-engage.org or call 1-877-5-E-N-G-A-G-E.
DR. PIENTA: These volunteers are like angels on earth. We want to make it easier for them to help.
ANNCR: That's the Michigan Difference.
