Kellogg Eye Center expansion and Brehm Diabetes Center building: Major Gifts

In November 2004, William and Delores Brehm of Virginia gave the largest gift in the history of the U-M Medical School, $44 million, to fund research, facilities and faculty positions centered on diabetes. A substantial portion of the gift was designated for facilities where the scientists of the Brehm Center for Type 1 Research and Analysis can pursue a cure for Type 1 diabetes in cooperation with researchers from throughout the University and the world. The Kellogg/Brehm building is being funded in part by this generous gift. Learn more about the Brehms' gift and vision here.

In September 2005, Leonard G. (Larry) Miller, a Detroit area businessman and alumnus of the University of Michigan (’55), made a $1 million gift to help launch the U-M Kellogg Eye Center expansion project.
