The U-M has a long history of training tomorrow's diabetes specialists and researchers, and helping primary care and specialty physicians learn about the latest in diabetes care.
Our Pediatric Endocrine Training Program is a fellowship that provides advanced training in clinical care and research for pediatricians who wish to specialize in pediatric endocrinology, including diabetes care.
All internal medicine residents at U-M receive training in endocrinology and diabetes care, see the residency page for more information. For those seeking advanced training, the Adult Endocrinology Fellowship is offered through the Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes Division of the Departmnet of Internal Medicine, and features thorough training in the care of adults with all forms of diabetes as well as research training.
For physicians and health professionals already in practice, the U-M offers free online Continuing Medical Education in Managing Type II Diabetes and occasional live courses.
There are also many educational materials for professionals available online from the Michigan Diabetes Research & Training Center.
