Heart/blood vessel complications

People with diabetes have a very high risk of developing heart disease, and suffering a heart attack or stroke. That's why it's so important for diabetics to get regular checks of their blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and to watch their diet and exercise.

The U-M Cardiovascular Center offers excellent preventive and post-diagnosis care for people with all forms of heart and vascular disease, including that related to diabetes. There's even a special clinic for people with diabetes who need heart-related care: the Briarwood Center for Cardiology and Diabetes To learn how you can receive specialized care through this clinic, call (734)647-7321.
