Translating laboratory discoveries into "real world" treatments, and studying the impact of new treatments and treatment strategies, is a major emphasis at U-M. The Brehm gift will strengthen our ability to turn science into solutions for Type I diabetes patients.
Clinical research in diabetes at the U-M includes trials of new drugs and devices, studies of new treatment protocols, population-level research on diabetes outcomes and costs, and the evaluation of educational efforts for patients, families and clinicians.
Coming soon: a sampling of some of the many clinical research projects in diabetes and diabetes complications that are currently under way at the U-M.
