With the advent of Michigan Medicine branding, individual department logos have been discontinued. This has caused some concern on how to brand merchandise and apparel, aka "swag," which is why we have worked with approved vendors to create a logo specifically for use on merchandise and apparel. This logo exception allows for the use of department names and the block M to be printed or embroidered on swag and clothing items only.
Under no circumstances can this logo be used on any materials other than merchandise and apparel. The use of "Michigan Medicine" or "University of Michigan" taglines are prohibited to be used alongside the logo exception.
Listed below are examples how to use the approved logos and department names on merchandise.
A new logo has been created specifically and solely for use on scrubs. The logo should be placed on the left breast and contain no more than four lines of text.
The logo below is the preferred logo for White Coats. The logo should be placed on the right breast of the white coat.
For examples on different ways to use a logo and/or department name on apparel, refer to the samples below.
