Research

The Michigan Bowel Control Program (MBCP) is a multidisciplinary group committed to improving quality of life for patients suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction and defecation disorders. Living with these disorders has a significant impact on individuals’ daily activities and quality of life. Through treatment, evaluation, and research the MBCP strives to advance medical knowledge. Standardized surveys assess the patients symptom severity, quality of life, and goals for treatment. The knowledge gained through research is invaluable in accurately diagnosing and more effectively treating this underrecognized and underserved patient population.
