Clinical Interests
Jen has worked for the University of Michigan Health System since
May of 1997. She began working on the acute care and inpatient rehabilitation
teams then became a permanent member of the outpatient team in 1998.
Jen developed a special interest in pelvic floor dysfunctions and
has completed beginning, intermediate and advanced training in this
area. In the fall of 1999, Jen helped to establish the pelvic floor
dysfunction program. Jen is a credentialed clinical instructor with
the American Physical Therapy Association and enjoys educating physical
therapy students. She is the author of the chapter, “Therapeutic
Interventions: Modalities” in the manual of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation. Jen has presented on various topics including
chronic pelvic pain at the 12th Annual Primary Health Care of Women,
introduction to airway clearance techniques at Central Michigan
University and teaches the monthly Back School at University of
Michigan Health System. She has advanced physical therapy training
in several areas including; pelvic floor dysfunction, myofascial
release, craniosacral therapy, visceral mobilization, muscle energy/joint
mobilization, and neurotension techniques. Jen treats a variety
of orthopedic spinal and extremity dysfunctions, headaches, myofascial
pelvic pain, vaginal / rectal pain, urinary/fecal incontinence,
constipation, interstitial cystitis, fibromyalgia, and patients
requiring neurological rehabilitation. |
