Mission Statement

The Michigan Bowel Control Program (MBCP) is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the treatment of patients affected by defecation disorders and pelvic floor dysfunction. The expert team includes Urogynecologists, Gastroenterologists, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians, Surgeons, Nurses, Radiologists, Physical Therapists, and Nutrition experts. The integrated and collaborative efforts of the MBCP offer a unique, dynamic and holistic approach to patient care. After a complete evaluation and appropriate diagnosis, a patient receives a coordinated care plan with individualized treatment. The patient and family are incorporated into decision making and are expected to be active partners in the relationship.

The MBCP team strives to improve quality of life in a currently underserved population. A patient is brought to a positive outcome through:
