History

The Center for Arrhythmia Research began as the Institute for Cardiovascular Research (ICR) at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. The ICR was officially established in 2002, but was a world leader in the fight against cardiovascular diseases for decades prior.

In December, 2007, the ICR opted to leave SUNY to join the U-M Cardiovascular Center and help form new heart-rhythm center.
