Mission Statement
The primary mission of the Anesthesiology Research Division is to promote preclinical and clinical research with the potential to advance the science and practice of anesthesiology.
Training Opportunities
The Research Division provides a unique training environment for basic, translational, and clinical research. Residents can participate in ongoing research programs or can develop new projects to be conducted under faculty mentorship. As described in the link Residents, our residents routinely present award winning research at the Midwest Anesthesiology Research Conference. Residents have the opportunity to work along-side additional research trainees including Ph.D. students, and post-doctoral investigators.
Proven Success
The productivity of Anesthesiology Research at the University of Michigan is described for the years 2004-2008 at the link to the left entitled Department Publications. This level of productivity is facilitated by an administrative staff dedicated to fulfilling the primary mission of the Anesthesiology Research Division.
