The U of M Department of Anesthesiology Triumphs over Midwest Rivals

Dan Leventhal, the host of the Midwest Anesthesiology Conference invited a team of anesthesiology residents from The University of Michigan to Chicago this past May to compete in a Jeopardy style contest against eleven other teams from all over the Midwest. Until this year, the contest had been strictly a Chicago event. The questions were very challenging and all anesthesia related. After squeaking through the semifinal round, our residents showed their prowess by a solid victory in the final round. The residents included Donna Redd, Amy Kostrzewa, and Kayode Williams. Each of the first place winners received a cash award and a textbook. The team was expertly coached and motivated by Jeremy Lieberman, of the department faculty. They have been invited back next year to defend their title.
