The sky was sunny but the temperature remained cool for the department’s 6th Annual GasMasters Golf Outing. The game was played Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Reddeman Farms Golf Club, located seven miles west of Ann Arbor. All golfers were due by 7:00 AM to the 6,513 yard championship golf course that offered them a full range of golf amenities as well as spectacular views of the rolling fairways in a quiet peaceful country setting. After a light breakfast, 86 players tee’d-off for this four-person scramble contest. By the end of the day, Drs. Bruce Crider, Jeff Rosenthal, Gary Faerber, and Jeff Holman secured first place with 9 under par, a tournament record! Coming in second was the team of Ted Sanford, Jay Sanford, Adam Dahl, and Tom Allen, who were followed by the third place team of Kim Vnuk-Kronick, Mary Downey, James Scarsella, and Frank Smolinski. Scoring closest to pin male was Dr. William Justice, and the female winner was Kim Vnuk-Kronick. Shooting the longest drive for the males was Dr. Chris Lambert, and for the females, Deb Wagner. A barbecue buffet luncheon was served after the game at the course.
