Hans P. Schlecht, DO of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin has been elected President of the Aurora Medical Group-Fond du Lac (AMG-FDL). The two-year term began January 1, 2000. Board certified in 1995, Dr. Schlecht is also the director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center at Aurora Health Care in Fond du Lac. As President, he presides over the Management Council which represents the physicians of Aurora Medical Group. Dr. Schlecht is responsible for daily operations of Aurora Fond du Lac, new physician recruitment and public relations. He is the first DO and first anesthesiologist elected President of AMG-FDL. Aurora Health Care is the largest non-governmental employer in the State of Wisconsin. Dr. Schlecht has resided in Fond Du Lac, WI since June 1998 with his wife Suzanne and eight year old daughter, Chelsea.

"I am living in Los Angeles riding my bike to work each day at UCLA where I work full-time as a Clinical Faculty Member, doing my own cases. I work primarily in the ambulatory surgery center. I have no call or weekend responsibilities and can enjoy a normal nights sleep.
I spent a few weeks with Operation Smile in Kenya awhile ago doing cleft lip and palate repairs. It was an incredible experience and would recommend it to anyone interested in combining travel with third world anesthesia (www.operationsmile.org). I keep busy with skiing, mountain biking and some surf trips to Mexico when I can.
