Preop Clinic:

Anesthesia Preoperative Assessment Clinic (APAC)

If you are scheduled for an operation at the University of Michigan Health System, you may be referred to the Anesthesia Preoperative Assessment Clinic (APAC). We do not see all patients scheduled for elective surgery; instead, we only evaluate patients who would benefit from preemptive assessment and therapy. For example, we see patients who have complex medical problems or potentially difficult airways.

The clinic is located on the second floor of the Taubman Center in Section G. The APAC is open from 8 am to 4:30 pm every weekday for assessment of patients scheduled to have elective surgery. An attending anesthesiologists and an anesthesia resident work in the clinic during these hours every weekday.
