Clinics and Patient Services
One of the primary missions of the Department is to provide excellent patient care. In addition to delivering anesthesia, we manage several clinics and "services" that provide a wide range of services and therapies in pain management and perioperative medicine. These include:

University of Michigan Back and Pain Center treats patients with chronic pain

The Preoperative Clinic (APAC): assessment of patients with co-existing medical conditions

The Acute Pain Service (APS): provides analgesic therapy for patients with acute pain (usually following an operation)

Livonia Surgery Center: free-standing surgical center for outpatient procedures

The Department provides specialty care in all of the major anesthetic subspecialties. The following sections contain general information about the anesthetic specialties.
