Faculty, Fellowship and Research PositionsFaculty at the Lecturer to Professor LevelsThe University of Michigan Medical School Department of Anesthesiology is recruiting for positions in both the clinical and tenure tracks. The department is especially interested in faculty with subspecialty training in Neuroanesthesia, Obstetric Anesthesia and Ambulatory Anesthesia. Candidates with other subspecialty interests are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must be Board Certified or in the examining process and qualified to obtain a medical license in the State of Michigan. Resources are available for faculty to participate in clinical and laboratory research. Interested candidates should apply to:
Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship PositionsThe Department of Anesthesiology announces the availability of a 6-12 month fellowship position (CA-4) in Obstetric Anesthesiology, beginning July, 2002. The program offers an excellent mix of management of low and high-risk pregnancies, comprehensive didactic program, supervisory and teaching experience, and research opportunities under the guidance of a full time Director of Research. Outstanding maternal-fetal medicine service with 3500 deliveries/year in a modern women's hospital. Applicants must be ABA certified or in the examining process. Interested candidates may obtain further information and application by sending curriculum vitae to:
Post Doctoral Positions - Cytochrome ResearchResearch Interest: A major focus of the lab is to determine the mechanism of participation of cytochrome b5 in drug metabolism. Experiments involve biophysical and molecular biology techniques to study the molecular details of the interaction of cytochrome P450 with its redox partners cytochrome b5 and cytochrome P450 reductase. Postdoctoral FellowPostdoctoral positions are now available in the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Applications are being accepted from candidates with a Ph.D. or M.D. to work on NIH funded projects. These pre-clinical studies are investigating the role of neurotransmitters and neuromodulators (hypocretin/orexin, adenosine, opioids, and acetylcholine) in the modulation of arousal, breathing, and nociception. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for postgraduate training in a range of techniques (in vivo microdialysis, HPLC, electrophysiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and the assessment of sleep and nociception). Applicants should be highly motivated, have an established ability to communicate in English, and be interested in linking basic research to potential clinical relevance. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Email letter of inquiry, names and contact information for references, and CV to Dr. Ralph Lydic or Dr. Helen A. Baghdoyan.
